What are Slot Paytables?

To put it simply, slot paytables are a guide to the symbols and features a slot has. Think of them as a dashboard of sorts, listing the following features:

• Symbols
• Paylines
• Betting requirements
• Slot payouts

In most cases, the paytable is accessible via a slot guide that you click on. It is usually represented by an i although it can vary. Look for a hamburger icon or three dots to find the paytable and see what the symbols represent. Sometimes, slots will allow you to click on the symbols on the reels and list their payouts.

How to Read a Paytable?

Reading a Pay-table is easy. If you check the game’s guide, you’ll see that it lists the payouts for 2, 3, 4, 5 or more symbol combinations. The number next to the number of symbols is displayed in a format as 2x.

For example, if a symbol on the slot paytable shows 4x for 3 symbols, it means that the payout for matching three of those symbols is three times your current stake.

Types of Paytable Symbols

You’ll see all sorts of symbols listed on the paytable. They are usually divided in separate sections, like special symbols, premiums (high-paying symbols) and low-win symbols too. • Premiums: premiums or high-paying symbols are the symbols that pay the most in a slot. These are the symbols that pay the most, usually having the highest values for combinations of five.
